Norma E. McDowell

JOHNSTOWN — McDOWELL – Norma E., 96, Johnstown, died Oct. 9, 2012, at home. Born Dec. 10, 1915, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Oscar and Effie M. (St. Clair) Bush. Preceded in death by husband, Melvin R.; four sisters; and five brothers. Survived by daughter, Janet, married to Byron Harrison, Brandon, Fla.; sons, Duane, and wife, Linda (Harshberger), Bruneau, Idaho; and Barry, and wife, Linda (Smuro), Mechanicsburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Mabel Rose, Johnstown. Norma was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, where she and her late husband were a deacon and deaconess. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren. Interment will follow at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
