FORK MOUNTAIN, VA. — WARREN – Joanne (Kelly), 84, Fork Mountain, Va., formerly of Johnstown, died Oct. 9, 2012, in Fork Mountain Rest Home. Born Dec. 3, 1927, in Johnstown, daughter of Joseph C. and Marguerite (Conrad) Kelly. Preceded in death by parents and husband, William Ray, Roanoke, Va., with whom she was lovingly married to for many years and honeymooned at the Cloisters in Sea Island, Ga. Survived by her many friends, extended family and her children, Ann (Toby Peterson), Marietta, Ga.; Lynn Kelly (Woody Griffiths IV), Carversville, Pa.; William Stuart (Susan Meadors), Henry, Va.; and Joseph O. (Tad Fanning), Annapolis, Md. Joanne’s grandchildren, Mathew Tschirgi, Portland, Ore.; Natali Johnson, Atlanta, Ga.; Troy Peterson, Valdosta, Ga.; David Warren, Los Angeles, Calif.; Paul Warren, Gonzales, La.; Daniel Warren, Charlottesville, Va.; Woody Griffiths V, Gettysburg, Pa.; and Caroline Parker Griffiths, Concord, N.H. She was a unwavering member of her beloved St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and attended the Novena without fail each year. Joanne graduated from Ferndale High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with honors as a business major and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Joanne worked for many years as an integral member of Child Welfare, Children & Youth program for Cambria County. Also a member of St. Andrew’s Ladies Guild, and was a volunteer for various charities, to include Catholic Charities and St. Vincent de Paul. She received the honor of being Woman of the Year from YWCA for her work in social services. Joanne was dearly loved and already greatly missed. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at St. Andrew Church, the Rev. Angelo Patti, celebrant. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
