ROSEWOOD PERSONAL CARE HOME — PREDKO – Albine P., 94, went to be with the Lord Oct. 23, 2012, at Rosewood Personal Care Home. Born Sept. 22, 1918, in St. Michael, daughter of the late Settimio and Maria (Boccacio) Portante. Also preceded in death by husband, Felix; son-in-law, Felice B. “Bill” DiNinno; and siblings, Adele Freto, Nancy Morocco and Anthony Portante. Survived by daughter, Phyllis Ann DiNinno, Windber; grandsons, Bryan T., married to the former Rosemarie Burinda, Front Royal, Va.; Matthew J., Ruskin, Fla.; and Blaise A., married to former Kirstin Kennedy, Central City. Also survived by five great-grandchildren , Nichole, Blaise, James, Michael and Jennifer. Also survived by sister, Bertha Cann, Cleveland, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. Albine will always be remembered for her faithfulness in keeping God’s command to love without ceasing. This was exemplified by her obedience in being patient in afflictions, rich in good works and generous, ready to share on every occasion. 1 Timothy 6:18. Her great- grandchildren called her “Iya,” which she loved and was proud to answer to this special name. A lifelong resident of Windber, spending the last 33 months of her life lovingly cared for by Rosewood Personel Care. She was a faithful member of Berkey Church of the Brethren family whose pastors are Nathan and Earl Crissman. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Earl Crissman officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berkey Church of the Brethren Bus Fund in Albine’s memory.
