Michael S. Kaminski

LILLY — KAMINSKI – Michael S., 86, Lilly, went to his eternal rest Oct. 25, 2012, at Health South Northeast, surrounded by his family. Born Sept. 22, 1926, in Lilly, son of the late John and Catherine (Hrobak) Kaminski. Preceded in death by brothers, Albert S. and Stanley; and sisters, Mary Arinkus and Anna Bush. Survived by loving wife, Vernita (Bucynski) Kaminski; and children, Professor Michael A., and wife, Danuta (Grzywacz) Kaminski; Mary Andrea, and husband, John Scott Basedow; Matthew Albert Kaminski; and Maurice Adrian Kaminski; also grandchildren, Jennifer Basedow, Michael A. Kaminski III, Michael Basedow, Matthew Kaminski, John Basedow and Gina and Cara Kaminski. Survived by brothers, Louis and Thomas Kaminski. Mike was a beloved husband and a devoted and loving grandfather. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served with the U.S. 1st Calvary in the Philippines. Member of Lilly American Legion, and was a former Boy Scout leader. He lectured on the subject of geology and enjoyed the great outdoors and had a deep appreciation for natural sciences and nature. He was last employed as a maintenance supervisor at Glen Rock Public Schools in New Jersey. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, is serving the Kaminski family.
