GEISTOWN — HORNICK – Robert B. “Bob,” 89, Geistown, resident of Richland Woods for more than two years, died Oct. 28, 2012. Born Oct. 24, 1923, in Johnstown, son of the late Frank G. and Mary C. (Disch) Hornick. Also preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Frances C. (Ball), and sister, Elizabeth Hornick. Survived by daughters, Barbara Hornick-Lockard (Dennis Lockard), Corning, N.Y.; Frances (Terry) Smith, Silver Spring, Md.; Karen Hornick (Fred Smoler), New York, N.Y.; and Michelle Hornick Crowley (Steve Crowley), Carlisle, Pa.; and grandchildren, Ben and Mark Lockard, Gillian and Laura Smith and Joe and Cecile Crowley. Brother of Mary Frances Stevons, Louise Hoffman and Ronald Hornick, and brother-in-law of Janet Hornick and Edmund T. and Henry E. Ball, all of Johnstown. Bob was devoted to his family. He served as an Army combat engineer in World War II and retired as a clerk from the Gautier Division, Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown Plant. Lifelong member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Bob built his own home and could repair anything. He took pride in his blueberry bushes and loved being outdoors, reading about science and American history, and listening to classical music. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Church, Father David S. Peles, pastor. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by Menoher Post 155, VFW Ritual Team. Family suggests donations to Robert B. and Frances C.
