GEISTOWN BOROUGH — BARTIS – Martin K., 78, Geistown, passed away Nov. 10, 2013, at Golden Living Center. Born Nov. 4, 1935, in Johnstown, son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Wagenski) Bartis. Preceded in death by brother, Anthony Bartis; and first wife, Wilma (Intehar) Bartis. Survived by loving wife, Patricia (Higgins) Bartis, Geistown; and sister, Martha Bartis; and brother, Joseph Bartis, married to the former Connie (Pavich), all of Johnstown. Also survived by nieces, Barbara Bartis and Mary Elizabeth Bartis, both of Alexander, Va.; and Melanie Bartis-Westbrook, married to Clayton, Houston, Texas; and nephew, Michael Bartis, Johnstown. Also survived by great-niece and -nephews, Abigail, Damien, Clayton, Jacob and Joseph. Martin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Member of Retired Men’s Club and life member of Holy Cross National Catholic Church, Moxham, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Father Paul Zomerfeld, officiating. Committal, Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moskal & Kennedy Colonial Funeral Home, Moxham, where prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to either Holy Cross National Catholic Church, 534 Woodland Ave., or Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 700 Park Ave. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
