Ruth C. (Coppersmith) Anderson

PHILADELPHIA — ANDERSON – Ruth C. (Coppersmith), 71, passed away May 9, 2013. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late John B. Anderson. She was a 1959 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School, Johnstown. Ruth was president of the Spanish Club, co-captain of the Flag Twirlers and a member of Girls Athletic Association, Y-Teens and student council. She was a graduate of PSU and Keystone Business School. Ruth began her professional career working for American Securities Corp., Philadelphia. Soon after, she was named municipal bond officer of Fidelity Bank, Philadelphia, where she was a trader in the municipal bond division, and was a member of Investment Women’s Club of Philadelphia. She and her beloved husband, Andy, spent many vacations at Curtain Bluff, Antigua, and their summers on Long Beach Island, N.J. More recently, Ruth was spending her winters in Key West, Fla. Predeceased by her parents, Ruth (Lang) and John Coppersmith. Surviving are stepchildren, John (Janet) Anderson II and Kimberly (Bill) Curley; and grandchildren, William J. Curley IV, Avery A. Curley, Curran A. Anderson and John Grayson Anderson. Also surviving is an aunt, Bernice (Ray) Clites; and uncle, Elmer Lang. In addition, Ruth leaves behind her cousins, Linda (Everett) Custer, Patricia (Guy) Krisay, Diane (Richard) Raab and David and Maryann Clites. Arrangements are with Alleva Funeral Home Inc., Paoli, Pa.
