James Robert Clarke

NORTHERN CAMBRIA — CLARKE – James Robert, 94, Northern Cambria, passed away March 14, 2013, at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage. J. Robert was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Barnesboro, son of James and Anna M. (Sleigh) Clarke. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Winifred Elms, Alice Harrison and Sarah Clarke; and beloved wife of 58 years, Ethel Jane (Jackson) Clarke. Survived by daughter, Linda (Bill) Yarnall, Harrisburg; sons, J. Robert Clarke Jr., Memphis, Tenn.; William J. (Toni Marie) Clarke, Mineral Point; Donald L. (Kay) Clarke, Anderson, S.C.; John T. (Nadine) Clarke, Northern Cambria; and Jan D. (Teresa) Clarke, York; grandchildren, Leslie (Bill) White, J. Robert Clarke III, Dr. Rebecca (Dr. Scott) Lawson, Hilary J. (Shawn) Leonard, Megan A. (Christopher) Vutsinas, Andrew D. (Lauren) Clarke, John T. Clarke Jr., Abigail S. Clarke, Elisabeth A. Clarke (fiancee of Tim Groth) and Mitchell T. Clarke; and great-grandchildren, Eliza White, Owen White and Clarke Patrick Leonard. J. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and life member of the NRA. Member of UMWA Local 1368.  Lifelong member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Northern Cambria.  No viewing or visitation at the request of the deceased. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Interment, North Barnesboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1201 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria, Pa. 15714. Arrangements by Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria.
