CARLISlE — LONG – Henry Lewis, 83, Carlisle, native of Williamsport, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired elementary school principal from Conemaugh Township School District. He received his bachelor’s degree from Lycoming College and master’s degree from Penn State University. Having lived in several communities in Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Rotary, Lions and Sierra Clubs and United Methodist Church, where he was a lay person and Sunday School teacher. A history buff, he enjoyed reading, hiking and traveling. Born Sept. 30, 1929, to the late Dr. John William and Mildred (Lewis) Long. Survived by wife, Betty (Overdurf) Long; daughters, Cynthia Brown (Kevin), Burke, Va.; Joanne Fenstermacher (Peter), Simsbury, Conn.; Elizabeth Stickel (Jeffrey), Springfield, Va.; Rebecca Goetz (Joseph), Mechanicsburg; and Jennifer Cribari (Dan), Harrisburg; sister, Jean Dunkleberger, Carson City, Ariz.; and grandchildren, Erin, Daniel, Nathan, Joshua, Alexander and Andrew. A memorial service will be held at Lycoming College Chapel in June. Interment, Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport.
