William H. Fowler

NORRISTOWN — FOWLER – William H., 92, Norristown, formerly of Northern Cambria, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He worked as a mining maintenance instructor for Pennsylvania Mine Corp. for 25 years, until his retirement in 1986. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served from 1942 to 1943. He fought in the Battles of Guadalcanal and British Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. Born Feb. 26, 1921, in Ramey, Pa., son of the late Lewis and Flora (Miller) Fowler. Husband of the late Mary C. (Boggio) Fowler, who died in 2009. Surviving is his loving family, including son, Kevin W. Fowler, New Cumberland, Pa.; daughter, Connie Martino, and husband, Joseph Jr., East Norriton, Pa.; grandchildren, Joseph A. Martino III, and wife, Amanda, Trooper, Pa.; Lacey D. Fowler, New Cumberland; and Lance A. Fowler, Pvt. 1st Class, U.S. Army, stationed in Kuwait; great-grandson, Joshua Martino; brother, Lewis Fowler, and wife, Joanne, Kirtland, Ohio; sister, Flo Ann Horner, Leesburg, Va.; and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by brothers, John and Richard Fowler. Funeral service and interment will be private at the request of the family.
