SOMERSET — LEER – Helen Laferne, 73, Somerset, died Sept. 5, 2013, at Somerset Hospital. Born Nov. 23, 1939, in Somerset, daughter of Earl H. Weimer and Mary Grace (Knepper). Preceded in death by parents; husband, Wilbert Clyde Leer Jr., who died March 3, 1991; brother, William Weimer; and infant brother, George. Survived by sons, Michael T. Leer, Somerset; David S. Leer, married to the former Melanie Nicklow, Somerset; Carl E. Leer, married to the former Kathy Cunningham, Sidman; and James A. Leer, married to the former Alison Shaw, Somerset; and grandchildren, Alex, Bethany, Hope, Julie and Lincoln. Sister of Ann Burns, Erie; Jay Weimer, Somerset; Dave Weimer, and wife, Judy, Somerset; Fred Weimer, and wife, Nancy, Irwin; and Joseph Weimer, and wife, Sue, Somerset; and sister-in-law, Arlene Weimer, Somerset. Helen was a graduate of Somerset High School. She worked until her retirement as an LPN for Siemon’s Lakeview Manor. Member of Milford United Methodist Church and Red Hats. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Milford United Methodist Church, Somerset, the Rev.
