SIDMAN — YAKICIC – Catherine L. “Kitty,” 80, formerly of Sidman, died July 24, 2012, at Arbutus Manor. Born Jan. 9, 1932, in Summerhill, daughter of Paul and Rose (Haberl) Schrift. Upon her mother’s death at childbirth, Kitty was raised by Joseph and Mary (Schrift) Bimle. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward J. Yakicic, who died March 26, 1989; Joseph and Mary Bimle; brothers, Thomas Schrift, Raymond Schrift, Paul Bimle and Wallace Bimle; and sisters, Joan Kline, Anna Jean Motchenbaugh, Josephine Cochran, Margaret McCormick and Lois Mickolick. Kitty was the last surviving member of the Paul Schrift family. Survived by children, Thomas, Chambersburg; Dennis, married to Carol Gmeiner, Sidman; Maximilian “Max,” New Germany; Martin, married to Tracy Thomas, Sidman; Edward, and special friend, Tammy Bartles, Hagerstown, Md.; and Frances, wife of Todd Ritchey, Ebensburg; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Jay Bimle, Summerhill; Leo Bimle, Johnstown; and Ronald and Rosie Bimle, Sulphur, La.; sister, Nancy and Earl Edmiston, Salix; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Kitty was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, its ladies guild and funeral committee. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, by Father Charles F. Bodziak. Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. (
