Gladys M. Stombaugh

PORTAGE — STOMAUGH – Gladys M., 94, Portage, went to be with the Lord Dec. 11, 2013. Born Aug. 29, 1919, in Portage, daughter of John and Mabel (Plummer) McDonnell.  Preceded in death by parents; husband, Donald T. Stombaugh; and these siblings,  Olive George, Leona Morgan, Anna Jean Lamar, John McDonnell Jr. and Donald “Yank” McDonnell. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Gladys was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A devoted member of Church of the Nazarene, Portage. Gladys touched many lives, whether you were related or not, she considered you family and she was known as “Aunt Gladys” to all.  Throughout her life, she helped to raise and take care of many children.  At Glady’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation.  Family will receive a reception of friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon Saturday at  Matthew R. Decort Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Portage, the Rev. C. Edward Albert, officiating.  Committal, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob. In lieu of flowers, Gladys wished donations to be made to Church of the Nazarene, 1111 Main St., Portage, Pa. 15946.
