Agnes T. Cunningham

CARROLLTOWN — CUNNINGHAM – Agnes T. “Una,” 69, Carrolltown, passed away Nov. 27, 2012, at Miners Medical Center. Born Oct. 4, 1943, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Rice) Doran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sadie Clark, Margaret McElhill and Mary Nolan; and brothers, Phil and Sean Doran. Survived by husband, Thomas “Buzz” Cunningham, whom she married Nov. 28, 1963; children, Teresa (Kent) Smithmyer, Carlisle, Pa.; Seamus (Lynn) Cunningham, Coopersburg, Pa.; Sean Cunningham, Carrolltown; and Tom Cunningham, New Castle, Del.; grandchildren, Kieran and Declan Smithmyer; and Julia, Mairin and Eamon Cunningham; brothers and sisters, Elish Johnston, Thomas Doran, Patricia Leamy, Joseph Doran, Teresa McGuigan and Brenda Morton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, her grandchildren, shopping and going to Curves. At Agnes’ request, there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, the Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB, celebrant. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the ProLife organization of the donor’s choice. Stevens Funeral Home Inc., Carrolltown, is handling the arrangements. (www.stevensfh.com)
