CENTRAL CITY — WOJCIK – Walter W. “Whitey,” 89, Central City, died Nov. 18, 2012. Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Central City, son of Andrew and Mary (Kudasik) Wojcik. Preceded in death by parents; first wife, Ann; sisters, Louise Low and Marian; brother, Henry; brother-in- law, John Low; and sister-in-law, Frona Wojcik. Survived by wife, Katherine (Hook); daughters, Ann Louise Wojcik, and friend, Edgar Miller, Central City; and Janice (Low), wife of Joseph Stahl, Bethel Park; and a number of nieces, nephews and dear in-laws. Lifelong member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Proud member of UMWA Local 6410. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, having served in the European, African and Pacific Theaters of Operations. Whitey could always be found tending his garden back at “three logs” and was especially known for his garlic crop. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mulcahy Funeral Home, Central City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Church, formerly Sacred Heart, Father Brian Warchola. Committal, Sacred Heart Cemetery. Graveside military rites by Central City American Legion and VFW posts.
