JOHNSTOWN — CROWLEY – Richard Grant, 90, Johnstown, passed away Nov. 21, 2012, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Johnstown, son of Ulysses Grant and Catherine Louise (Kyle) Crowley. Preceded in death by parents; wife, M. Jane (Seifert) Crowley, sisters, Evelyn Crowley and Lillian Wagner; brother, Robert Crowley; and special companion, Josephine Reiser. Survived by children, Dona, and husband, Fred Domer, Virginia; and Richard Lynn, and wife, Rhonda; Deborah, and husband, Thomas White; Patricia, and husband, William Thomas; and Winifred, and husband, Frank Nies Jr., all of Johnstown; sister, Marian Muchesko; brother, Roger Crowley; grandchildren, Kathleen, Alisha, Richard K., Harmony, Christopher, Craig, Scott and Frank III; and four great-grandchildren. Member of Roxbury St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and VFW Post 155. He was in the Army during World War II and was involved with the Coast Guard auxiliary for 15 years, along with his wife, and he served as commander for three terms. He was active volunteering at the YMCA and YWCA performing various duties. Richard was proud to have built his own home, and was an exceptional handyman. He retired from the postal service, where he was a special delivery carrier. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles so much that he helped his son restore his motorcycles, as well as his own. Richard was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Saturday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., the Rev. Wayne Sedei, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roxbury St. Paul’s United Methodist Church memorial fund.
