Anna Phillips

EMEIGH — PHILLIPS – Anna “Honey,” 88, Emeigh, passed away at her home Thursday, June 19, 2014. Born Dec. 15, 1925, daughter of Metro and Mary (Bucka) Phillips. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael; and sister, Helen Kochinsky. Survived by devoted son, Joseph Phillips; granddaughters, Christine (Nick Friedman) and Jennifer (Shannon Schake); and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Maya Friedman. Also survived by sisters, Margaret (Henry) LeGars, Mae Gallagher, Elizabeth Marino, Agnes Boring, Catherine (Franklin) Woods and Nancy Higgins; also brother, Steve (Mary) Phillips. Anna spent her working career at Barnesboro Shirt Factory. She was known as an excellent cook and enjoyed baking goodies for family and friends. Longtime member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Emeigh, as well as Prince of Peace Parish, Northern Cambria. The family extends thanks to Dr. Matt Dvorchak and to Anna’s excellent caregivers from Homestead Unlimited, especially Janice LaMagna. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace Church, Father Larry Lacovic, celebrant. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in Anna’s memory to Bishop Carroll High School.
