Frances C. Hornick

HORNICK – Frances C., 80, of Geistown, died Dec. 16, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 20, 1927, daughter of Casimir and Catherine (Pokrzywa) Ball. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Howard, Agnes Conway and Adeline Demo; and brothers, M. Francis, Thomas J., Joseph C. and Walter J. Ball. Frances is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert B. Hornick, and these daughters: Barbara Hornick-Lockard, and husband, Dennis, Corning, N.Y.; Frances Smith, and husband, Terry, Silver Spring, Md.; Karen Hornick, and Fred Smoler, New York, N.Y.; Michelle Hornick-Crowley, and husband, Steve, Carlisle; grandchildren, Ben and Mark Lockard, Gillian and Laura Smith, and Joe and Cecile Crowley; and brothers, Edmund and Henry Ball. Also survived by a large extended family. A member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Volunteered for the American Heart Association. Frances was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and devoted sister. She took great pride in her home and caring for her family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal will take place at St. Joseph Mausoleum. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Benedict Catholic Church Building Fund, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
