Morgan wins predator hunt

JEROME — Sean Morgan of Northern Cambria was top dog in the coyote category of Jerome Sportsmen’s Association’s third annual Adam Deist Memorial Predator Hunt.

Morgan harvested a coyote weighing 36.8 pounds.

Ross Moon of Somerset was the second-place winner with a coyote weighing 33.4 pounds, and Anthony Stanczyk of Somerset came in third with a coyote of 32.6 pounds.

The red fox category was captured by Moon with a fox weighing 10.2 pounds.

Jason Beggs of Somerset took first, second and third places in the gray fox category with animals of 13 pounds, 12.6 and 11.8.

Lester Brehm of Hooversville brought in the lone raccoon, which weighed 15.8 pounds.

The total harvest was six coyote, 13 gray fox, one red fox and a raccoon.

Sixty-seven hunters registered for the contest.
