Jeff Rine became the only multi-feature race winner in the super late models division last Friday at Bedford Speedway, taking his fourth checkered flag.
Tim Smith Jr. won his first feature this season in the limited late models and Daryl Whetstone celebrated 40 years of racing with his second straight street stocks victory, then announced in Victory Lane that he is retiring.
Bill Replogle won for the second time this year in the hobby stocks while Ed Vogel claimed victory No. 3 in the four-cylinders.
Steve Everhart just needs to bring his car to this Friday’s World of Outlaws super late models special to earn the 100 show points and win his first Bedford track championship.
Derek Byler clinched his first track championship at Bedford in the limited lates while Bob Jay won the street stocks title.
Charlie Walter won the hobby stocks championship, and Mike Lauffer was the four-cylinders track champ.
n For the second week in a row, Meyersdale’s Mark Smith took the checkered flag in the super late models division at Jennerstown Speedway, leading the 75-lap invitational from start to finish.
Andrew Kostelnik moved up to second in the points standings, just two behind Jim Bodziak, by winning his second feature in the street stocks division. Larry Dunmyer won his second hobby stocks feature and Matt Custer was the mini-cup race winner.
Track points leader Jason Mignogna holds an eight-point edge over Barry Awtey in the super lates and Eugene Zerfoss holds a mere two-point margin over Steve Long.
This weekend will be the season finale at the track.
n Three of the four winners at Thunder Valley on Saturday were first-time victors: Shawn Claar in the late models, Bill Replogle in the pure stocks and Jay Schettini in the four-cylinders.
Greg Hainsey won the semi-lates feature.
With just one event left, three of the points races are too close to call. Everhart leads Scott Rhodes in late models points, Greg Cornell Jr. is just ahead of Jim Sayler in the semi lates and Chris Booher leads Martin Vinosky in the four-cylinders.
Jason Vangilder can clinch the pure stocks title by starting this week.
n Winners at Dog Hollow were: Clate Copeman in late models, Joe Kelley in street stocks, Cory Kilgore in pure stocks, Mike Pegher in the Fastrack late models and Brennan McCracken in the four-cylinders.
n Three-time Motordrome Speedway champion Richard Mitchell won his first super late models feature in two years. Other winners were Adam Kostelnik (modifieds), Teddy Gibala (street stocks) and rookies Chris Spadacene (chargers) and Stan Nodina (American flyers).
n At Lernerville, winners were Brian Ellenberger in the sprint cars, Keith Barbara in the late models, Kevin Bolland in the modifieds and Bob Egley in the street stocks.
Track champions are Alex Ferree (late models), Brian Swartzlander (modifieds), Kevin Schaeffer (sprints) and Egley.
