    It was an afternoon of firsts for area athletes Tuesday at the District 6 Class AA Track and Field Championships at Mansion Park.
    The biggest factor was the lightning and sheets of rain which caused flooding throughout the venue.

    It was an unprecedented and abrupt ending Tuesday at the District 6 Class AA Track and Field Championships at Mansion Park.
    Lightning and a torrential downpour which lasted over a half hour halted events at the meet at around the halfway point. Action will pick up at 4 p.m. today, weather permitting.

  • Richland wrestler picks UPJ

    Richland wrestling standout Nick Naglic consistently made a name for himself statewide, as he made two PIAA tournament appearances and snagged podium finishes at district and regional tournaments.
    With ambitions of making a name for himself nationally, he won’t have to go very far to hit the ground running.

    A number of area athletes excelled Monday at the Bellwood-Antis Track and Field Invitational.
    Richland’s Kelci Warshel won four events, sweeping both the 100 and 300 hurdles races as well as the triple and long jumps.
