JOHNSTOWN — Baseball

Bedford 11, Penn Cambria 10 (8 innings): In Lilly, the Bisons’ Dylan Downs had two hits and two RBI to help edge past the Panthers in extra innings on the road.

Bedford’s  Travis Hickey had two hits and an RBI in the win. 

Penn Cambria’s Garret Martynuska and Jonah Diehl each had two hits and two RBI in the loss. 

Bishop McCort 11, Bishop Carroll 0: In Revloc, the Crimson Crushers scored nine runs in the fourth on the way to a five-inning win against the host Huskies.

Winning pitcher Brad Coleman struck out four and walked none then drove in three runs to help his own cause. Jeremy Adams was 2-for-3 and Adam Molnar was 2-for-2 for Bishop McCort (4-1).

Scott Lucas and Raymond Watt were both 2-for-2 for Bishop Carroll.

Conemaugh Valley 13, Turkeyfoot Valley 1: In Confluence, the Blue Jays pounded out 18 hits in a five inning win over the host Rams.

Christian Aurandt was 3-for-4, including two doubles and scored twice for Conemaugh Valley (3-1), which also got a 3-for-3 afternoon with two runs scored from Jacob Kitner.

Corey Kalinyak, winning pitcher Kaleb Riehl and Blake Furman each had two hits and scored two runs apiece for the Blue Jays.

Forest Hills 12, Westmont 2  (6 innings): In St. Michael, the Rangers’ Blaine Harteis went 3-of-3 with three RBI to thwart the Hilltoppers in six innings. 

Forest Hills’ Alex Murphy, Shane Kelly, and Sam Vought each went 2-of-3 in the win. 

Westmont Hilltop’s Dylan Kmecak had two hits in the LHAC loss.

Greater Johnstown 5, Bishop Guilfoyle 1: In Altoona, the Trojans’ Grant Noon earned a win with nine strikouts to beat the Marauders on the road. 

Greater Johnstown’s Shawn McLean scored two runs and had three stolen bases in the LHAC tilt. LesPaul Buchko had an RBI in the win. 

Bishop Guilfoyle’s Frank Montecalvo had an RBI in the loss.

Richland 9, Cambria Heights 4: In Patton, the Rams’ Tyler Mikesic was 2-of-3 with a run scored and an RBI in a LHAC victroy against the Highlanders. 

Richland’s Matthew Roland had two hits, scored two runs, and had an RBI in the win.

Cambria Heights Richard Legros went 2-of-3 and scored a run in the home loss. 


Greater Johnstown 18, Bishop Guilfoyle 2 (3 innings): The Trojans’ Madison McKee went 3-of-3 with a single, double, and a triple with three runs scored to help blast the Marauders. 

Greater Johnstown’s Tara Bicko had three hits with three RBI and three runs scored.  Lexi Lindrose was credited with the win, striking out six and giving up only three hits. 

Bishop Guilfoyle’s Gabby Smith hit a double and scored a run in the loss. 

Cambria Heights 8, Richland 4 (8 innings): The Highlanders’ Julia Pritchard went 4-of-5 with two doubles and three runs scored to help beat the Rams in extra innings. 

Cambria Heights Cori James got the win with 12 strikeouts and a walk. Lauren Gill added two doubles and an RBI in the win.

Richland’s Courtney Syfert hit a triple in the loss. 

Somerset 15, Central Cambria 12: In Somerset, the Golden Eagles’ Emily Costea hit two singles and home run in a nine-inning thriller against the Red Devils. 

Somerset’s Bailey Stinebiser, Hope Brock, and Shania Steinkirchner each hit three singles in the win. The Golden Eagles had a total of 21 hits.

Central Cambria’s Kirsten LaJudice had four singles in the loss.

Penn Cambria 6, Bedford 0: In Bedord, the Panthers’ Kelly Yusko struck out 12 and gave up only one walk in a win against the Bisons. 

Penn Cambria’s Kay Little had two doubles and two RBI in the LHAC victroy.

Bedford’s Alyssa Turkovich hit a double in the loss.

Conemaugh Valley 13, Turkeyfoot Valley 1 (6 innings): In Confluence, the Blue Jays’ Melanie Lint struck out seven batters and allowed only one hit by the Rams. 

Conemaugh Valley’s Liz Stiffler went 3-of-3 with three RBI.  The Blue Jays’ Mikayla Lint hit a grand slam in the sixth inning in the win. 

Turkeyfoot Valley’s Danielle Kemp scored the only run for the team in the loss. 

Shade 12, Blacklick Valley 1 (5 innings): In Cairnbrook, Shade’s Emma Spinelli hit a first inning home run to help blow past Blacklick Valley in five innings. 

The Panthers’ Kaily Karl had a double and a single with an RBI. Lexi Meck earned the win with three strikeouts, giving up only three hits in the WestPAC clash.

The Vikings’ Martina Stiles hit a double and a single in the road loss.
