High School Boys
Richland 66, Hollidaysburg 48: Kyle Flick led Richland with 28 points while Jacob Lushko and Aaron Miller scored 10 each in a win over visiting Hollidaysburg.
Nick Consiglio’s 13 points topped the Tigers. Max Sheets had 11 and Jake Hollsopple scored 10.
United 91, Northern Cambria 50: In Northern Cambria, United’s Mike Gill scored a game-high 22 points and controlled the boards with 15 rebounds to help romp the Colts.
The Lions’ James Currie tallied 16 points, and Caleb McAdoo had 11 points.
United’s Jake Beacker scored nine points with six assists and five steals.
Northern Cambria’s Joe Olish led the team with 15 points and Seth Bearer scored 12 points.
Somerset 77, Penn Cambria 64: In Cresson, Somerset used a 23-11 second-quarter scoring advantage in a victory over Penn Cambria played at Mount Aloysius.
Dylan Barnes had 23 points, and Elliott Dick had 14 for the Golden Eagles. Connor Zearfoss had 13 points and Jake Heiple had 10.
Penn Cambria’s Zach Chridon had a team-high 15 points. Andrew George had 12 pionts, with Mark Mardula scoring 11, and Chad Tsikalas netting 10.
Windber 73, Everett 51: In Windber, Devon Tomlinson and Matt Barkley scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead the Ramblers.
Keith Grubb had 11 points for the Warriors, who got 10 each off Kevin Shaffer and Tyler Bowman.
Shade 74, North Star 26: In Carinbrook, a forty point start in the first quarter helped Shade rout North Star.
The Panthers’ Jeremy Pyles scored a game-high 22 points and Nash Walker had 18 points in the WestPAC victory. Shade’s Aaron Fyock tallied 13 points.
North Star’s Von Yoder led the Cougars with 14 points.
Shanksville-Stonycreek 52, Portage 40: In Shanksville, Jake Wilt scored 15 points and had 15 rebounds to lead the Vikings. Ryan Platt added 12 points and snatched seven rebounds.
Cody Randall’s 12 points topped the visitors, who got 10 from Jake Swank.
Berlin Brothersvalley 70, Blacklick Valley 19: In Berlin, the Mountaineers’ Zac Cooney scored 13 points in a WestPAC victory against the Vikings. Berlin Brothersvalley’s Jake Snyder had 12 points and Trevon Ward put up 11 points in the win.
Blacklick Valley’s Nathan Smith led the team with nine points.
High School Girls
Cambria Heights 54, Bedford 40: In Patton, the Highlanders’ Kara Cordell scored 20 points in a LHAC victory over Bedford.
Bedford’s Allsion Shook scored a game-high 27 points.
Berlin Brothersvalley 63, Blacklick Valley 28: In Berlin: Erica Craig scored a game-high 15 points to help the undefeated Mountaineers beat the Vikings.
Berlin Brothersvalley’s Aleesa Fieg tallied 13 points.
Allsion Thomas led Blacklick Valley in points with eight.
Bishop Carroll 63, Somerset 62: In Ebensburg, Alli Farabaugh’s 3-pointer fell through the hoop with 4.3 seconds on the clock to give the Huskies their win.
Ellie Yahner’s 15 points led the hosts while Britt Krug added 13 and Lea Sammarco scored 11.
Ashley Welsh and Paige Alcorn had 16 points each to front Somerset. Meghan VanLenten added 13 points.
Bishop McCort 53, Central Cambria 40: In Ebensburg, Bishop McCort’s Katie Wilson scored 16 points in a LHAC win against Central Cambria.
The Crimson Crushers’ Haley Thomas scored 12 points and Carly Hajjar had eight points.
Central Cambria’s Taylor Boring shot a game-high 22 points.
Conemaugh Valley 55, Rockwood 25: In Rockwood, The Blue Jays’ Brooke McCleester scored 11 points and had 10 assists in a win agianst Rockwood.
Conemaugh Valley’s Kacie Smith and Liz Stiffler both tallied 11 points. Emily McCray had nine points and controlled the boards with 10 rebounds.
Rockwood’s Bree Shultz scored a game-high 12 points.
Forest Hills 64, Greater Johnstown 47: In Sidman, Caitlyn Gallaher scored 26 points and Jill Scott added 16 to lead the Rangers.
Tashayla Smith’s 22 points topped the Trojans, who got 14 from Lexi Lindrose.
Portage 69, Shanksville-Stonycreek 30: In Portage, the Mustangs’ Lexi Wozniak scored a game-high 19 points in a win over the Vikings.
Portage’s Olivia McCabe scored 17 points with 13 rebounds, seven steals and six blocks. Emily Chobany tallied 17 points in the win. The Mustangs are now 15-1.
Shanksville-Stonycreek’s Aly Platt and Gretchen Shultz both scored nine points in the loss.
Penn Cambria 54, Richland 30: In Cresson, Kaitlyn Krug scored 16 points and Kaley Strittmatter added 10 to lead the Panthers to victory.
None of the Rams reached double figures.
Bishop Guilfoyle 55, Westmont Hilltop 52: In Altoona, Bishop Guilfoyle’s Lili Benzel scored a game-high 24 points to help edge Westmont Hilltop.
The Marauders’ Macy Adams tallied 15 points in the win.
The Hilltoppers’ Alyssa Miller earned a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Megan Zolnosky scored 10 points in the loss.

Martella’s sweeps past Delweld
A six-run rally in the first helped guide Martella’s Pharmacy to an 8-1 win over Delweld in Game 3 of their best-of-5 AAABA League semifinal series at Point Stadium, sweeping the series in the process.
That rally also continued season-long trends for the clubs, according to their respective managers.
Warshel selecting UPJ
For Kelci Warshel, the call to attend Pitt-Johnstown was based on the availability of her desired major – nursing.

Rallying Dodgers snap Pirates’ win streak at 3 games
Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched seven strong innings, Adrian Gonzalez reached base five times and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 on Monday night.
Ryu (11-5) joined Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw in making the Dodgers the first team in the majors with three 11-game winners.
Pitt picked sixth in cluttered Coastal
Florida State was an obvious choice as a favorite in one of the Atlantic Coast Conference’s divisions.
In the other one, the pecking order was nowhere near that clear.

Bedford’s Jake Stover had two hits with double and three RBIs in a 9-6 win against host Clearfield in the Pa. American Legion Region 7 Tournament.

Claysburg’s Mike Mock went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in the fourth inning to help his squad get by Beech Creek 7-6 during Sunday’s winners-bracket game in the Pa. American Legion Region 7 Tournament.
Pirates rally to keep sweep
Taking the extra base was the key for the Pittsburgh Pirates in completing a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies.
Andrew McCutchen hit a tiebreaking single in the seventh inning, Neil Walker followed with a home run and the Pirates overcame a three-run deficit to beat the Rockies 5-3 Sunday.
AAABA League playoffs: Laurel Auto Group moves closer to advancing
Second-seeded Laurel Auto Group fell behind early against No. 3 Berkley Hills Renegades on Sunday afternoon at Roxbury Park. But Laurel’s players didn’t lose their composure.
Urtz, Pope lead AAABA League award votes
Logan Urtz hadn’t fielded a ground ball as an infielder or swung a bat in a game for a couple seasons.
But you can’t take the former infielder out of a starting pitcher.
