Renegades nip Delweld

JOHNSTOWN — Austin Mock hit a double to the right-field gap at Roxbury Park to bring home Dan McGrath in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Berkley Hills Renegades completed a come-from-behind effort that edged Delweld 8-7 on Monday in AAABA League action.

McGrath had reached base on a walk and went to second on a Jay Shirley sacrifice bunt before scoring the game-ending run.

Rick Jones was 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI for the Renegades (13-7).

Brett Marabito and Dominic Farina were each 2-for-3 with Marabito scoring twice and Farina scoring once and driving in two runs.

Kyle Droz was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

For Delweld, Adam Ferita was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI while teammate Alex Dirienzo weny 2-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run.

Delweld led 6-2 after four innings, but the Renegades pulled to within one with three runs in the sixth.

Delweld scored one in the top of the seventh, but Berkley Hills tacked on two in the bottom of the frame to send the game to the extra inning.
