Ex-IUP player headed to trial on drug charges

INDIANA — An Indiana University of Pennsylvania football player who has since been kicked off the team and left school will stand trial for possessing marijuana allegedly found when his off-campus apartment was raided last month. Two teammates who also lived there have been fined for lesser charges.

Twenty-year-old Erroll Brewster, of Silver Spring, Md., waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges, including a felony count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

The Indiana Gazette reports two other players who had faced similar charges have been fined for lesser counts now that Brewster has allegedly acknowledged the drugs were his.

Twenty-one-year-old De-Antwan Williams, of Woodbridge, Va., has been fined $439 for disorderly conduct while 22-year-old Jerrel McFadden of Manassas, Va. has been fined for possessing a small amount of marijuana.
