Ex-pastor gets 9-25 years for molesting teen

MERCER — A former Methodist pastor who molested a western Pennsylvania teen after he caught the boy watching pornography has been sentenced to nine to 25 years in state prison.

The (Sharon) Herald reports 48-year-old Lee Moore was pastor of Mercer United Methodist Church when he lived next door and caught the boy, who was then 13, watching pornography.

Prosecutors say the pastor told the boy he wouldn’t get in trouble if he let Moore perform sex acts on him. The pastor never asked the boy to perform sex acts on him. The abuse lasted until the boy went to college in 2008.

The victim is now 24.

A Mercer County judge ruled Moore must register as a sexually violent predator after he’s released, because he “groomed” the boy for sex.
