Bride allegedly fatally shoots niece

NEW BRIGHTON — Authorities say a Beaver County bride allegedly fatally shot her niece after an argument that took place during a wedding party.

Police allege that 30-year-old Christina George-Harvan of Conway used her husband’s handgun to shoot 21-year-old Katelyn “Kaytee” Francis of Fairmont, W.Va., during an argument Thursday in a New Brighton bar. That’s about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police say the trio argued inside the bar about who would drive, and George-Harvan allegedly shot her niece in the parking lot around 10 p.m. The wedding was held earlier in the day.

George-Harvan is being held in the county jail without bond. No attorney was listed on court papers.
