Wrong way crash closes Pittsburgh parkway

PITTSBURGH — An early-morning crash shut down a part of I-376 in Pittsburgh after a wrong-way driver struck two vehicles.

Authorities say the crash happened at about 3:45 a.m. when 21-year-old Kelsey Davis drove east on the westbound lanes of the interstate, near the Oakland exit. Her car hit a GMC Envoy driven by 47-year-old Christophe Taesch, who suffered moderate injuries.

Davis also hit a tractor-trailer but its driver was unhurt. Davis was cut from her vehicle and taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital with major injuries.

Authorities are still investigating. The Interstate reopened at around 5:30 a.m.
