Man arrested after toddler found with syringes

A central Pennsylvania man is jailed on child endangerment and drug charges after police said they found a toddler in his car playing with syringes.

Lebanon police said they got a report of a man asleep in a McDonald's parking lot Thursday and arrived to find 27-year-old Ray Lucas in his car with a 2-year-old in the back seat.

Authorities said the toddler was playing with two syringes, one of which was uncapped with an exposed needle. Police said tests confirmed both syringes contained heroin.

Lucas was sent to the Lebanon County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 25.

The child was examined at a hospital and released to other family members. Police didn't say how Lucas was related to the toddler.
