Chlorine leak at Seven Springs water plant contained

CHAMPION — Crews have contained a leak from a 100-gallon chlorine tank at Seven Springs Mountain Resort’s water treatment plant.

The plant operator at Seven Springs Mountain Resort called 911 to report he was dizzy, according to the Daily American.

Emergency crews responded about 8:20 a.m. Sunday and contained the leak about 80 minutes later.

The plant is about two miles from the resort’s main entrance. The resort and its guests were not affected by the leak.

Resort spokeswoman Anna Weltz issued a statement tanking first responders for their quick response and says nobody was seriously injured.

The plant operator was treated at a hospital in Somerset.
