Man dressed as Santa struck and killed on I-95

PHILADELPHIA — A motorist allegedly driving with a suspended license is facing charges after police say he fatally struck a man in a Santa suit on a Philadelphia highway.

According to state troopers, 27-year-old Augustine Bangura also failed field sobriety tests after the accident Saturday night on Interstate 95.

Bangura is charged with vehicular homicide and other counts in the death of 24-year-old Adam Herr of Lebanon, Pa. It’s not clear if Bangura has a lawyer.

Earlier Saturday, Herr had participated in the Running of the Santas. It’s an annual pub crawl and three-block run downtown.

Members of the victim’s family tell the Philadelphia Daily News that they don’t know why Herr was on the highway.
