Four Michigan players provided a goal and an assist as the Michigan Warriors defeated the Johnstown Tomahawks 8-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Perani Arena and Event Centre in Flint, Mich.
The Warriors picked up their fifth straight win and sixth in their last ten games (6-3-1).
Michigan’s Trevor Gorsuch stopped 35 of 36 shots, with the lone goal Tomahawks goal coming from Cody Boyd with 29 seconds remaining in the third period.
Johnstown’s Chris Truehl stopped 10 of 14 shots before being pulled early in the second period. Colin Brennan replaced Truehl and stopped 12 of 16 shots.
The Tomahawks went 0-for-4 on the power play, finishing the series a combined 0-for-13. Michigan went 2-for-5, getting power-play goals from Corey Schueneman and Jake Faiella.
The Tomahawks return to Cambria County War Memorial Arena for a weekend series with games against Port Huron beginning Friday at 7 p.m. and Soo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
