Marianna Elizabeth Parrish and Christopher Robert Carthew were married Sept. 14, 2013, at Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Patton. The Rev. Ananias Buccicone, OSB, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony and celebrated a Nuptial High Mass.
The bride is the daughter of James and Michelle Parrish of Bolivar. She is the granddaughter of Susan Parrish and the late James Parrish, and Judy Sabo and the late Raymond Sabo.
The groom is the son of William and Valerie Carthew of Fishertown. He is the grandson of Gloria Pope of Fishertown and the late Robert Pope, and the late Edward and Teresa Carthew, formerly of Brownstown.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Maria Parrish, as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Philomena and Teresa Parrish, sisters of the bride; Jennifer Carthew, sister of the groom; and Sarah and Michelle Parrish, sisters-in-law of the bride.
Bryan Carthew of Columbus, Ohio, was his brother’s best man. The groomsmen were Nathaniel Colligan of Greensburg; Cory Seese of New Paris; and Joseph, James and Elijah Parrish, brothers of the bride.
The flower girls were Margaret-Mary and Christiana Parrish, sisters of the bride. The ringbearer was Patrick Parrish, brother of the bride.
The Rev. Cyprian Constantine, OSB, was the organist. The musicians were the Schola Choir, Leslie Boylan and Philomena Parrish.
Offertory gifts were presented by Judy Sabo, grandmother of the bride, and Edward Carthew of Lexington, Ky., uncle of the groom.
Renee Carthew, aunt of the groom, and Laura Briggs, aunt of the bride, read Scripture.
A dinner and a reception were held at New Germany Grove Hall.
The bride and groom are graduates of Conemaugh School of Nursing and both are registered nurses employed by Memorial Medical Center.
The newlyweds reside in Ferndale.
