Bryan Sivak performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Shirley Rakoczy of Windber.
The groom is the son of Nick and Mary Ann Thies of Oak Forest, Ill.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Melissa DiGuilio, Shan Bhati, Christina Ulane, Joseph Slepski and Brian F. Morrissey gave the readings.
An organist from the University of Chicago performed during the ceremony.
Abigail Dean, Amy Versaw, Rocco Labriola and Darren Spitzer performed “Sleepwalking,” “Dream” and “Heaven Can Wait.”
A reception was held at DankHaus, Chicago.
The bride and groom honeymooned on The Weezer Cruise from Miami to Cozumel.
The bride is a 1992 graduate of Windber Area High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Chicago.
In 2008, she graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
She is employed by U.S. Agency for International Development.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Marist High School and a 1998 graduate of Eastern Illinois University.
He is a graphic designer and drummer.
The newlyweds reside in Washington, D.C.
