Jennifer Appleman, Patrick Spenik

Jennifer Kay Appleman and Patrick David Spenik were married July 8, 2006, at Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus.

The Rev. Thomas Burke, pastor of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Pittsburgh, and the Rev. Gary Close, pastor of Puckety Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, Westmoreland County, performed the double-ring ceremony and celebrated a Nuptial Mass.

The bride is the daughter of Vincent and Sandra Appleman of Lower Burrell.

The groom is the son of David and Susan Spenik of Johnstown.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Fawne Thomas-Denti as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Boyer-Bauer, Kendra Josephic, Cassandra Stephens, Sara Lehman and Sarah Rubinstein, cousin of the groom.

Adam Lehman was the best man.

Ushers were Brad Bowser; Michael Klaum; Lance Appleman, brother of the bride; Jeffery Kotwica; and Jason Josephic.

Caroline Caruso was the flower girl.

Justin and Jason Rowe were the ringbearers.

Dr. Robert Lord was the organist.

A reception was held at Sailors and Sailors Memorial Hall, Pittsburgh.

The bride is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received a degree in elementary education.

She earned a master’s degree in reading language arts instruction from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh.

She is a second-grade teacher employed by Riverview School District, Oakmont, Allegheny County.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a doctorate of pharmacy.

He is a clinical pharmacist employed by Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights, Allegheny County.

The newlyweds reside in Plum Borough, Allegheny County.
