Eagles' tribute band back by popular demand at Arcadia

WINDBER — Get ready to feel the cool wind in your hair and experience the classic sounds of the Eagles as Hotel California returns to Windber.

“Hotel California, A Salute to the Eagles” will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Arcadia Theater, 1418 Graham Ave.

The group was founded with the intent of filling the void left by the demise of the Eagles in 1982.

Hotel California reproduces the sound of the Eagles’ studio recordings, re-creating a classic sound that transcends the boundaries of rock, rhythm and blues and country, performing the Eagles’ megahits such as “Take it Easy,” “Heartache Tonight” and “Hotel California,” as well as newer releases such as “Get Over It” and “Love Will Keep Us Alive.”

“The group also performs select titles from the solo works of Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh,” said Amy Moore, public relations director for the theater.

That list includes such hits as Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” and Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way.”

“These are the types of shows we love to present at the Arcadia because they are relavent to the entire family,” Moore said.

“Eagles’ music appeals to multiple generations ranging from teenagers to those in their 70s.”

Much of that popularity can be attributed to the group’s accurate reproduction of the vocal and musical talents to duplicate the sounds of the Eagles.

Moore said the tribute band has been performing a long time, and has become a favorite of Arcadia audiences.

“Nearly every show this season has been based on the requests of our patrons, including this show,” Moore said.

“There are many Eagles’ tribute bands out there, but this is the one our audience has been asking for.”

The group performs nearly 200 events each year, including special corporate functions, charity benefits, fundraisers, outdoor concerts, festivals and fairs, playing main stages receiving top billing as a national act. They have shared the billing with such groups as The Commodores to The Little River Band.

The band, comprised of five respected, multitalented top music industry professionals, presents a dynamic, exciting show saluting the music of the Eagles, a super group whose music has proven to have a staying power.

“The Eagles’ music is not easy to replicate because of their insanely difficult harmonies, but this group of five incredible musicians has been doing it for a long time on stages all over the world,” Moore said.

“They duplicate the Eagles’ harmonies to perfection.”

Moore is pleased with how patrons are supporting the show.

“Tickets are selling well and I would suggest getting them as soon as possible to be assured of a desired seat,” Moore said.
