JOHNSTOWN — The PIAA Southwest Regional AA Wrestling Tournament will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, 326 Napoleon St., downtown Johnstown.

The top wrestlers from districts 5, 6 and 7 will be in action, competing for berths in the PIAA state tournament.

There will 196 wrestlers from schools in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler, Cambria, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Fayette, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Juniata, Lawrence, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

Tickets will be available at the door.

Onstage

“On the Town” will be presented at 7 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Richland High School, One Academic Ave., Richland Township.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens.

“Legally Blonde: The Musical” will be presented at 7 tonight and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Greater Johnstown High School, 222 Central Ave., Johnstown.

“The Nifty Fifties” will be presented at 7 tonight and Saturday at Blacklick Valley High School, 555 Birch St., Nanty Glo.

“The Wizard of Oz” will be presented at 7 tonight and Saturday at Bedford Area High School, 330 E. John St.

“Guys & Dolls” will be presented at 7:30 tonight and Saturday at Purchase Line High School, 16559 Route 286 Highway East, Commodore.

Tickets are $5 at the door.

Civil War stories

Local authors Jim and Suzanne Gindlesperger will give an illustrated presentation based on their book, “So You Think You Know Gettysburg?” at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Discovery Center, 201 Sixth Ave. in the Cambria City section of Johnstown.

The Gindlespergers will tell human interest stories and some of the lesser-known facts about this Civil War battle.

The event is free and open to the public.
