A Beaverdale man was jailed Wednesday after being accused of raping a 16-year-old disabled girl.
Summerhill Township police charged David Eugene Carman Jr., 45, with 20 counts of rape of a mentally disabled person and 10 counts each of aggravated indecent assault of a mentally disabled person, indecent assault by force and corruption of minors.
He also was charged with one count each of rape by force, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by force and aggravated indecent assault without consent.
A relative called police after the girl did not return home after being gone for about two hours on Monday, according to a criminal complaint filed by police. Officers said the girl had been at Carman’s residence in the 800 block of Cameron Avenue.
She has the mentality of a 3- or 4-year-old child, police said.
Police allege that Carman sexually assaulted the girl numerous times from May to December after they communicated on Facebook.
Carman was arraigned by on-call District Judge Michael Musulin of Johnstown and sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $100,000 bond.
