County funds for airport authority could be lower than anticipated in 2014

Although the tenative 2014 budget for Cambria County won’t be unveiled until Thursday, county fund allocations for the Johnstown/Cambria County Airport were discussed at Tuesday’s regular authority meeting. President Commissioner Douglas Lengenfelder said the preliminary figure isn’t what the authority is used to.

“You’re not going to like what we committed,” Lengenfelder told authority chair Rich Weaver during the meeting. “You would have been in culture shock if I’d shown you the first figure they recommended.”

Lengenfelder said there were several organizations that did not specifically request allocations based on a completed 2014 budget - the authority was one of those organizations.

Read more details, including how much less was committed to the authority in the preliminary county budget, in Wednesday's Tribune-Democrat.
