Missing Penn State student reportedly seen in Ebensburg

STATE COLLEGE — The search continues for a Penn State student reported missing this weekend, after he was last seen Monday in Bridgeport, W.Va.

State College police said Wednesday that Jesse W. McMillen, 21, was seen at Exit 124 of Interstate 79 at about 4:45 p.m. Monday.

He was carrying a cardboard sign.

Prior to that, McMillen was seen Sunday in Ebensburg, where he told a Red Carpet Inn worker he was trying to hitchhike his way to Pittsburgh to see a friend, police said.

Bridgeport, W.Va., is about 140 miles southwest of Ebensburg.

He was reported missing this weekend by his roommate and police said he has not been in touch with family or friends for about a week.

McMillen is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.

Police said he has brown hair and brown eyes and wears glasses.

He was last seen carrying a dark-colored backpack with numerous pins attached.

Anyone with information about McMillen’s whereabouts is asked to call the closest police department or state police.

He is entered in the nationwide computer database as a missing person.
