Woodvale drug bust nets two

JOHNSTOWN — Johnstown police have two people in custody following an early morning drug bust in the Woodvale section of the city.

City police, agents from the Attorney General’s office and members from Cambria County SERT raided a home in the 600 block of Iolite Avenue around 6 a.m. seising 4,250 stamp bags of heroin with an estimated street value of $50,000.

“This is a significant amount of heroin,” Johnstown police Chief Craig Foust said. “I would classify them as hight level heroin dealers.”

Names of the suspect have not yet been released.

Several children were inside the home and are now staying with relatives, Foust said.

Police also recovered two guns and $2,000 cash, he said.
