Indiana County woman to trial in child porn framing case

CLYMER — An Indiana County woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges she put child pornography on a computer in an unsuccessful effort to frame her estranged husband.

The defense attorney for 42-year-old Meri Jane Woods, of Cherry Hill Township, didn’t immediately return a call Thursday.

Troopers in Indiana say Woods came to their barracks on Aug. 14 to report her husband sexually abused children and put images of same on their home computer. Police investigated and determined the images were put on the computer Aug. 11 but that Woods’ husband had left the residence July 23, under a protection from abuse order she obtained.

Woods waived her right to a preliminary hearing on felony child pornography and false report charges on Tuesday.
