Speed restriction lifted on most of Pennsylvania Turnpike

45 mph speed limit still in effect on Northeastern Extension.

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and Pennsylvania.State Police have lifted the 45 mph speed restriction on the east-west turnpike mainline. However, the 45 mph restriction remains on the Northeastern Extension from Mid-County Interchange (Exit 20) to Clarks Summit (Exit 131). It will remain in place until the weather improves.

The Turnpike Traffic Operations Center and Maintenance Department will continue monitoring the weather and treating the roadway as needed. All travelers should keep alert for changing conditions and emergency crews working on the roadway.

Turnpike travelers can get up-to-date travel information by calling 866-976-8747 or online at www.paturnpike.com. Look for the travel advisories box on the top right of the home page.
