VIDEO – Explosion rocks Johnstown neighborhood

JOHNSTOWN — A tractor-trailer caught fire and exploded today in the Old Conemaugh Borough section of Johnstown.

Assistant fire Chief Tom Horner said the truck belonging to John Hruska Trucking Inc. of Windber was parked on Short Street around 1:30 p.m. when the engine caught fire.

“It totally destroyed the cab,” Horner said.

Firefighters put out the blaze. The truck driver who lived nearby had parked the truck and shut off the engine.

“Then he looked out and saw the fire,” Horner said. No injuries were reported.
