Auditor General: Greater Johnstown, where's the $8.7 million?

JOHNSTOWN — There is $8.7 million in state funds for student transportation that Greater Johnstown School District can’t document, the state’s top watchdog said today.

“Taxpayers in Greater Johnstown are getting clobbered,” state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said during press conference this afternoon at Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

“The district needs to do everything it can to ensure that as much funding as possible is going to classroom education.”

The $8.7 in undocumented spending represents the total unverified by the district over four different audits, dating back to 2002.
