Woman charged with stealing dying man’s dog

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh woman has been jailed on charges she stole her dying neighbor’s dog, then attacked two police officers who arrested her.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 57-year-old Gisele Paris, who was arraigned late Tuesday on charges including theft, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

Mark Boehler says he’s dying of throat cancer and still hopes to see his 8-year-old Siberian husky, Thor, before he dies – but police don’t know where the animal is.

Police believe Paris stole the dog from Boehler’s yard around Thanksgiving. She allegedly took the dog to an animal hospital last month, but became belligerent and left when workers there recognized the dog as belonging to Boehler.

Police say Paris struck two officers who arrested her, and has refused to disclose the dog’s whereabouts.
