Six heroin overdoses reported in region on Thursday

JOHNSTOWN — Police and ambulance personnel in the Johnstown area responded to a rash of reported heroin overdoses Thursday evening.

Johnstown police said they and medics responded to a report of an overdose at a residence on the 700 block of Coleman Avenue in the Moxham section of the city.

While at the scene, a resident told officers that there were two more overdoses at a nearby residence.

Police said that there also were reports of three overdoses in suburban.

Police departments will be working to determine if there is a common thread regarding the six overdoses.
