Funeral director seriously hurt in crash

— A local funeral director was seriously injured early Saturday after his motorcycle hit a guardrail on Eisenhower Boulevard, Richland police said.

Joseph Ryan Dalla Valle, 33, of Windber, was heading northbound on the road and failed to negotiate a left-hand bend in the road around 12:45 a.m., Richland police Chief Michael Burgan said.

The wreck caused the man’s motorcycle to catch fire, he added.

“The operator suffered serious injuries and was taken to Conemaugh hospital,” Burgan said.

Dalla Valle was listed in critical condition Monday, Conemaugh Health System media specialist Francine Bodnar said.
