PORTAGE — ZDUNCZYK – Phillip Sr., 77, Portage, passed away Dec. 7, 2013, at Windber Hospice. Born May 1, 1936, in New Germany, the son of Frank and Anna (Drosky) Zdunczyk. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Leo, Frank and Chester Zdunczyk; and sisters, Eleanor Timura-Baker, Delores Pacsai and Patricia Sesney. Survived by loving wife of 50 years, Mary (Olszewski) Zdunczyk, and son, Phillip Zdunczyk, married to the former Lisa Bimle, Portage. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Dean Bimle, and friend, Katie Carney, and Cody and Katarina Zdunczyk, and great-grandaughter, Olivia. Brother of Dorothy Baker, Portage, and Barbara Allsopp and Anthony “Bennie” Zdunczyk, married to the former Roxanne Connors, both of New Germany. Also survived by mother-in-law, Catherine (Habas) Olszewski, Portage, and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired truck driver from Lakeshore Motor Freight and served as a former Portage Township Supervisor. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trap shooter. Active member of Portage Rifle and Pistol Club and member of the Beaverdale Conservation Association, Portage Sportsmen and TAP. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Portage, Father Andrew Draper, TOR, celebrant. Committal, St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Wilmore.
