2 men charged with sales of heroin

— The Cambria County Drug Task force has arrested two out-of-town men accused of selling heroin in Johnstown.

The suspects are Justin Turner, 23, of Newport News, Va., who gave a local address as Oakhurst Homes in Johnstown, and Shannon Young, 28, of Bridgeport, Conn., who gave a local address in the 600 block of Coleman Avenue.

The two were arrested after task force officers conducted a controlled buy of heroin on Monday, District Attorney Kelly Callihan said.

The task force seized 50 bags of heroin with a street value of $1,000 during the arrest, Callihan said.

“This arrest illustrates the ongoing probe of out-of-town drug dealers establishing residence in Cambria County for the sole purpose of distributing drugs in our area,” she said.

Turner and Young were arraigned before District Judge Rick Varner in Sidman. They were lodged in the county prison in lieu of $50,000 each on felony drug charges, including delivery of heroin and criminal conspiracy.

More arrests are expected, Callihan said.

“We find (out-of-town dealers) are coming in and bouncing from location to location, which makes the task force’s job difficult to catch them,” Callihan said.

Johnstown police and agents from the FBI and the state Attorney General’s Office assisted in the investigation.
